Elder Statesman, Muhammad Jibo Dies At 92

The death of an elder statesman, Alhaji Muhammad Jibo of Tudun Wada Zaria has occurred on Wednesday at the age of 92 after a protracted illness at his residence in Zaria.

He is survived by three wives, 10 children and many grandchildren. Among the children is late Yusuf Jibo, a veteran broadcaster who served at the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), CNN and later Chairman, Governing board of the Kaduna State Media Corporation.

Alhaji Muhammad Jibo was a distinguished public servant of repute.

He served in the Nigeria Railway Corporation where he excelled and rose to the pinnacle of his career in the corporation.

Late Alhaji Jibo served in different capacities in the Northern Government of Nigeria, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Federal Commissioner of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and at various times Adviser to the Kaduna State Government and the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Alhaji Jibo was conferred with the National Honour of the Order of Federal Republic of Nigeria (MFR).
