El-rufai recreates a Minsitry he scrapped, nominates a Commissioner

The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, has recreated one of the ministries he scrapped on assumption of office; Ministry of Rural and Community Development, and nominated Mrs. Balaraba Aliyu-Inuwa, as the new Commissioner.
A statement by Samuel Aruwan, Special Assistant to the governor on media and publicity said her nomination was subject to confirmation by the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
“The Governor has also signed the legal notice creating the new ministry, bringing to 14 the number of ministries of the state government,” the statement added.
It explained that Balaraba Aliyu-Inuwa is the current Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural and Community Development, adding, “In that role, she has been the principal official driving the government’s rural and community development agenda.
“She has been coordinating the design and delivery of the Kaduna Rural Development Program (KRDP), along with efforts to identify and develop the poorest and most marginalized communities in Kaduna State.
“She has also been advising the state government on localizing the Sustainable Development Goals and developing strategies and approaches to combating poverty at community level.
“Mrs. Aliyu-Inuwa has worked as the Education Specialist and Deputy Programme Director for the Earth Institute, Columbia University on the Nigeria MDG Scale-up Programme based in Abuja.
“She is a development practitioner specializing in education, and has worked in the public and private sectors as well as civil society. For four years, she was the Technical Advisor to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on MDGs in Nigeria.
 
“She has also worked as the International Education Programme and Shared Learning Coordinator for Action aid International, and was a consultant for the Federal Ministry of Education on the Education for All Initiative.
“A graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, she is a trustee of the Centre for Policy Research and Development Solutions and serves as an advisor to numerous NGOs.”
