Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai of Kaduna State on Wednesday received a team from Albright Stonebridge Group, a firm founded by former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
The Governor received them at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on Wednesday in Kaduna.
The leader of the delegation, former Assistant Secretary of State for Africa, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield said they were in Kaduna State to have a firsthand information on investment and governance reforms taking place.
Linda, whose group explores investment opportunities for US businesses in Africa, was impressed by Kaduna’s reputation as a progressive state.
She said the decision of the Kaduna State Government under Malam El-Rufai to dedicate 16 per cent and 33 per cent, “more than 50 per cent” of the state’s budget to health and education respectively will have great impact on social development of the people of the state.
Ambassador Linda indicated interest in working with the state to expand opportunities for its people through investments.
The Ambassador and her group were impressed at the giant strides made in to Kaduna State and the creation of 200,000 jobs as a result of the inflow of new businesses since 2016.
