Kaduna State Government led by Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai is in collaboration with MACA Peace Walk and Humanitarian Achievers Awards  (MAPWHAA) a brain child of Gafiligadoki Communication, to promoting peaceful coexistence and humanitarian services in the state.

MACA peace walk embarked on a  peace preaching exercise and honouring of individuals that have contributed to the society.

They stormed Kaduna for peace walk and humanitarian achievers awards 2022 on Saturday.

They were in the state at the weekend for the peace walk awareness in the morning around 8am, with Team A and Team B marching from Ranchers Bees Stadium to Murtala Square and Ahmadu Bello Stadium Roundabout for peace and unity to improve the living conditions of the society.

The peace walk featured  Kaduna State Government’s senior officials, in a bid  to encouraging  leaders,  groups and individuals to intensify efforts towards providing humanitarian assistance to the needy in the society and to also  improve their living conditions.

el-Rufai and his deputy, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe and senior government officials,  groups,  individuals,  civil society groups and religious leaders were presented with some humanitarian awards during the event.

At the occasion, the leader of the organisation, Nyam Tekimbi Teri said the gesture is in recognition of  efforts and consistency in promoting peace in the society.

“However, the primary aim of the MACA Nation is to provide access and quality education to children, shelter to the less privileged, widows empowerment, healthcare and reducing extreme poverty especially in Northern Nigeria and beyond.

“Also, MACA Nation has decided to launch its version of the poverty alleviation programme, to qualitatively transform the lives and education of our children through our 100 Naira to School Campaign and Scholarship Endowment Fund,  as well as provision of shelter to the less privileged, widow empowerment, youth empowerment  and the setting aside of an interest free revolving loan facility to artisans, traders among other Nigerians,” he said.

On their mission, he explained that they work around Nigeria to save lives, promote peace, honour individuals and improve quality of lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice.

“It is a reassuring conversation, financial help, education, professional training, or simply the assurance that they are not alone.

“We also make sure that everyone gets support that meets them where they’re as quickly as possible as they address the specific and diverse needs of young people and also ensure they have access to the information, resources and support they need to escape poverty for good.

“We recognize that poverty is inextricably linked to social marginalization and discrimination – and our experience has shown that simply providing young people with a few skills, through our programmes makes a whole lot of difference.

“MACA Nation, MACA Reality TV Show, MACA Food Carnival, MACA Film Festival, MACA Family Game Show, MACA Queen Africa, MACA Talk Show, MACA Social Club, MACA Play and Dance Troupe, MACA Peace Walk and Humanitarian Achievers Awards, are ways we reach the society,” he said.

After the  morning peace walk, the MACA organisers held an award ceremony at Arewa House in Kaduna, where journalists that are exceptionally good for humanitarian services which involve reporting news of all calibers of people irrespective of tribe, culture, region or religion differences were awarded.

“The journalist exemplifies humanitarian ideals and attributes by contributing significantly towards alleviating human suffering and improving the quality of life and oral health of individuals both at rural and urban centers are recognized,” he explained.

The organisers of the MACA award spotted  Deustche Welle correspondent, Ibrahima Yakubu,  whom they said,  has contributed immensely towards promoting peace and developmental journalism in African countries through his write ups.

The management of MACA humanitarian organization deemed it fit to equally award him with Ambassador of Humanitarian Award by decorating him with membership regalia.

The recipient, Ibrahima Yakubu was delighted  as he called on  others to be more committed towards providing humanitarian assistance to victims of banditry, Boko Haram and  terrorism across the country .

He also thanked the organisers of the event for honouring him.
