El-rufai not interested in who emerges NUJ Chair, promises cordial relationship with journalists in Kaduna

Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-rufai has said he is not interested in who emerges as the new chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council in the December 15 slated election while pledging a cordial working relationship journalists in the state hence.
Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to Governor El-rufai, Mr. Samuel Aruwan made this assertion on behalf of his principal weekend while interacting with the members of the NUJ, Kaduna State chapter, at the council Secretariat, Muhammadu Buhari Way.
Aruwan said as the 4th estate of the realm, the media is a partner in progress and El-rufai is desirous of beneficial relationship in the new vision of making Kaduna State great again.
“The state government is in need of the support of all residents of the state towards ensuring the realization of the present government’s dream of making the state great again. To ensure the needed development, everybody is expected to play his or her role effectively and that is why the members of the media have a greater role to play
towards educating the populace on government’s programmes so that government activities will be appreciated by the people who elected them into office,” he stressed.
The media aide admitted that Kaduna being a complex state, requires a high sense of maturity for somebody to be able to effectively carry out his or her responsibilities as a leader, asserting that, “That is exactly what the governor has been doing since he came into office with a view of carrying every section along in the scheme of things without fear or favour.
“In doing what is right on the wrong done to the state, pragmatic steps must be taken to ensure sanity in the system by doing what is right, ensuring peace and development in the state. These are things you cannot take away from the present government of governor El-Rufai” he enthused.
He observed that people in the state were not impressed with the way government was being run, pointing out that government has to cut cost because the last budget was prepared by the last administration, hence the need to ensure prudency in order to meet the desired result.
On NUJ election, he stressed the need for journalists to redefine themselves towards ensuring peaceful, credible and peaceful polls, adding that the state government was looking forward to a formal engagement between the government and the media in the state.
