Kaduna State Government led by Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai on Thursday inaugurated the first set of Kashim Ibrahim Fellows as they begin their one-year leadership development programme.

The Governor welcomed the sixteen Kashim Ibrahim Fellows at the inauguration ceremony which was held at the Fifth Chucker Polo Club and Resorts on Thursday in Kaduna.

Malam el-Rufai explained that the programme rationale and introduced the members of the governing board to the fellows,  said it is time to protect the young as they are to lead the future generations in the country at large.

According to him, the Kaduna Ibrahim Fellows would be engage in seminars, lectures and shares ideas to fill more confident  and responsibilities in their various field.

El-Rufai said the programme is a platforms, they are persuaded as a leader, hold them a duty of their skills,  exposure, productively and  protect the young talented people.

He explained that the sixteen Kashim Ibrahim Fellows emerged from a pool of over 1,300 applicants. They are young people, with first degrees. Ten of them were male while six were female, Half from Kaduna residents, and the rest come from other parts of Nigeria.

Kashim Ibrahim Fellows appreciate the efforts of the state government as they were honour as a great privileged, they pledged to put in  their best by displaying their talents.

The Chairman Governing Board of the Kashim Ibrahim Fellows programme, Hakeem Belo-Osagie said they are pleased to be part of this progressive undertaking to develop young leaders.

Belo-Osagie said  he is extremely satisfied to find the sixteen people of  Kashim Ibrahim Fellows.

He said Knowledge, Power, Service are those things they have to come about with. They must sacrifice to deposit to  lives in their duty post.

They should make full use of their  talents along the line of their knowledge, power and services.

Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai and the Board members of the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Fellows  programme  inducted the sixteen new fellows.

Seated at the ceremony were other board members and the meticulously selected sixteen young persons that constitute the first set of the Kashim Ibrahim Fellows.
