Ekiti LG Polls: PPN, APA, KOWA others reiterate readiness

By; Oladele Adedayo, Ado-Ekiti.
As the local government election in Ekiti State draws near, more political parties have indicated interest and readiness to participate in the election.
Aside the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), other political parties that have shown interest are African People Alliance (APA), Kowa Party (KP) and Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN).
Few weeks ago, the United Progressive Party (UPP) also announced interest to participate in the election.
This is just as the umbrella body of all political parties in the state, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) lauded Governor Ayodele Fayose for his prudent management of state’s resources and sustenance of peace in the state.
In separate press statements issued by the State Chairman of Kowa, Pastor Ade Ogunkolade; State Publicity Secretary of  APA, Victor Adebisi and State Chairman of PPN, Hon. Ilesanmi Omolayo, the parties which are also members of IPAC, said Governor Fayose has done well for allowing for a smooth local government administration in the state.
The parties also said they would participate because of implicit confidence they have in the State Independence Electoral Commission (SIEC) led by Justice Kayode Bamisile (rtd).
They also advised EKSIEC to continue in the path of honour by providing a level playing field for all political parties taking part in the elections.
The leaders of the three parties therefore called on their members to come out and vote for their candidates.
Adebisi of the APA, commended the courage of Fayose for putting machinery in motion for the conduct of the poll and setting up democratic structures at the grassroots level.
In the same vein, Ogunkolade of KOWA Party said the governor should be supported in making the local government system work and be viable in the state.
The poll is slated for December 19, this year.
