As Muslims prepare to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command said it has deployed no fewer than 5000 personal ahead of the celebrations.
It called on all residents of the state and members of the public to ensure high degree of alertness before, during and after the celebrations.
Acting State Commandant of the Corps, Deputy Commandant of Corps, Ilelaboye Waidi Oyejide, who addressed security correspondents gave the readiness of the command to providing water tight security.
According to him “as we are aware, statutorily, safety and security of lives and property is the responsibility of security agencies with NSCDC inclusive, but, I call on everyone to consider it as a collective duty by reporting suspected life threatening acts, gatherings and persons to agencies for appropriate attention.
“I implore Muslim faithful who will troop out on Eid day to ensure vigilance at Eid-Prayer grounds, while cautioning members of the public that may visit recreational facilities about enemies of humanity who may wish to thwart the prevailing peace efforts to cause harm.”
The Commandant maintained that the success or otherwise of the agencies depend largely on the level of cooperation from the public especially, when crimes are committed where no agency is available to respond to it.
He assures, “for us in the NSCDC, arrangements have been concluded to deploy no fewer than 5,000 personnel to cover every nook and crannies of the state to be able to respond promptly and timely to any threat.
“The operations will involve both armed and unarmed operatives who are adequately briefed on the modus operandi” he added.
