*Kadafur felicitates Muslim ummah, prays for peace
*Borno Chief Imam prays for bumper harvest

There was heavy security presence, forming a ring as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima’ joined other Muslim faithful in observing the two congregational Rakats at Ramat Square Maiduguri on Sunday to mark the 2024 Eid el Kabir Sallah Festival .
Shettima’ felicitated the Muslims and people of Borno State, as well.as Nigerians on the Eid el Kabir Sallah Festival and prayed for successful sacrifices and festivities on the occasion and many years ahead.
He was accompanied by ministers of agriculture and food security, Minister of State, Hon. Ahmed Uba, National Assembly members like, Sen. MT. Monguno, House of Representatives member, Hon. Bukar Talba, Speaker, BOSHA, members of the State Executive Council, Members of the State Assembly, State APC Chairman and other party officials as well as political stakeholders and other dignitaries.
However, the acting Governor of Borno State, Hon. Umar Usman Kadafur has felicitated the Muslim ummah and people of Borno State on the Eid el Kabir Sallah Festival which was observed peacefully and under cloudy rain showers on Sunday across Maiduguri city and its environs as well as other LGAs of the state.
In his Sallah message to the people of Borno, he called on them to continue to pray for peace and good governance through service delivery, especially people oriented projects and programmes as well as the return of Borno Pilgrims from the Holy Land.
He further thanked the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima’ for his live, passion and affection to always be available with Borno people at all the times in such festivity, while praying for God’s protection and guidance in the leadership of the state and country at large.
Kadafur also appreciated the support and cooperation of all and sundry in the state and contributions of the security agencies and vigilante groups for their role and support in the restoration of peace and tranquility in the state, while wishing the Muslim community better health and long life to witness same Sallah Festivals many years ahead.
The acting governor wished all Muslims happy Sallah celebration and sacrifices as government continues observing its responsibilities and service to the state and people.
He prayed for safe return of the governor and his team from pilgrimage and acceptance of their ibadah in Saudi Arabia as well as acceptance of their sacrifices and prayers.
While the Chief Imam Idaini of Borno who led the two congregational Rakats prayer at the Eid ground, Sheikh Shettima’ Mamman Shettima’ Saleh, charged all Muslims to pray for those on holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia and return of pace to the state, while appreciating the efforts and concern of the security agencies and state government on issues of safety of lives and property of the citizenry.
He urged Muslims to also continue to be prayerful and appreciate the gifts of God, while thanking the governor and his subordinates for service to the people across the state and the traditional institution for the great role they play in the society.
Chief Imam Idaini prayed for bumper harvest and steady rainfall for crops and farm produce this year and beyond .
