As Muslims across the World celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival, the Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN) has charged Muslim women to remain steadfast and have total submission to the will of Almighty Allah as they exhibit the lessons of the celebration.
The association made the call in a statement issued by its National Amirah, Hajia Rafiah Idowu, to commemorate the major Islamic festival and made available to newsmen.
FOMWAN recalled that the event which led to the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir was full of lessons and reflection on the steadfastness and complete submission of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), his wife and son as well as past heroes and Muslim reformers who submitted totally to the will of Allah.
The association emphasized the need for Muslims, especially women and youth to always follow the path of Allah and abide by His dictates at all times.
The statement enjoined government at all levels to give priority attention to the well-being of the masses and ensuring equitable distribution of resources especially in these challenging economic times in the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
FOMWAN advised Nigerian youth to shun thuggery, drug abuse, cultism and other social vices that could jeopardize their future.
The statement restated FOMWAN’s commitment to continue to project Islam in good light by promoting the tenets of the religion which emphasizes woman dignity and courteousness both in private and public as well as contribute its quota to the propagation of Islam.
The statement wished Muslim ummah across the world happy Eid celebration and prayed for peace and stability of the nation.
