Former Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly and Member representing Esan Central Local Government, Hon. Victor Edoror has been suspended from Plenary for three months.
The House Speaker, Hon. Justin Okonoboh disclosed this on Tuesday in Benin City while briefing the House on the outcome of Interim Report of the Adhoc Committee constituted to look into the allegation of financial impropriety against the former Speaker.
Hon. Victor Edoror was impeached as speaker in June, this year for alleged high handedness and financial mismanagement.
Hon. Okonoboh said the former Speaker had failed to honour earlier invitations to clear himself by the adhoc Committee, hence the committee’s interim report.
He explained that the former deputy speaker and Member representing Ovia North East II, Hon. Bright Osayande has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
Also, the Speaker in Plenary announced the dissolution of all House Standing Committees with immediate effect pending when it will be reconstituted for oversight activities.
Hon. Justin Okonoboh also announced the expansion of the House Principal Officers Council (P.O.C.) with the inclusion of the Member representing Esan South East, Hon. Festus Edughele as co-opted Member.
