Economic Recession: Assist govt to cushion suffering of Nigerian masses – Reps

Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Urban and Regional Planning, Hon. Olatoye Temitope Sugar has tasked wealthy Nigerians to assist government in cushionin the suffering of Nigerian masses in this critical period of economic recession.
Hon Olatoye made the call in Eruwa while speaking at the palace of the Eleruwa of Eruwaland, Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola on the commissioning of the Ibarapa office of Olatoye Sugar Foundation (OSF).
According to the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker representing Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency in the National Assembly, going by the present economic situation in Nigeria, it was glaring that governments alone can no longer put smiles on the faces of millions of Nigerians.
He stressed that the time “is now for rich Nigerians to start giving back to the society, assering that on his part, he has been using this pet project to assist downtrodden Nigerians within Ibadan and Oyo State in the last ten years.
The lawmaker disclosed that his decision to expand the operations of the foundation was as a result of the current economic hardship across the country.
Speaking further, he said as part of his gesture to assist the President Muhammadu Buhari led government in making life more meaningful and comfortable for Nigerians across the country, the foundation with its headquarters in London, recently extended its operations to Bauchi and Edo states.
The APC lawmaker pointed out that the coming of OSF into the “Ibarapa zone is to assist Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State in ensuring the welfare and wellbeing of the people of the area”.
Hon Olatoye who also visited the Olu of Igbo-Ora, Oba Jacob Oyerogba and the Asigangan of Iganganland, Oba Lasisi Olaoye Adeoye, used the occasion to empower scores of people from different parts of the zone by given them items such as tools, cash and foodstuff.
Also at the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo-Ora, Hon Olatoye donated motorcycles and computer sets to the management of the institution.
