Ebonyi State Police Command has paraded four armed robbery suspects in Abakaliki over stealing of car, gallons of diesel and over 180,000 Naira.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Chris Anyanwu while parading them, stated that the hoodlums trailed a heavy duty vehicle which was conveying palm kernels with diesel from Cross River to Nsukka in Enugu State.
Mr. Anynwu explained that the heavy duty vehicle loaded with palm kernel and diesel was accompanied by the owner, Mr. Solomon Aloh, a 25 year old businessman from Udenu, Enugu on 29th August, 2022 with his Lexus Jeep, but was attacked by the four armed robbers along Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State where they succeeded in snatching away the man’s Lexus Jeep with a sum of 180,000 Naira and nine gallons of diesel.
They also collected the sum of 5,000 from the driver of the lorry but unfortunately, following security alert given to police, the hoodlums were intercepted and arrested by IShielu Police Division in collaboration with the vigilantees along Nkalagu Nigercem in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
He further noted that a double barrel pistol was found in their house while searching, while the Lexus Jeep was found at a different spot where they left it.
He also added that out of the nine gallons of diesel stolen, only four were found.
While interviewing the hoodlums to get their reactions, four of them denied the allegations, saying that it is not true because they came to assist the driver repair the vehicle, while others said they knew nothing about it.
