Ebonyi Deputy Speaker Harps On Youth Inclusiveness In Governance

The Deputy Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Comrade Chinedu Onah has asserted the need for giving the  youth their rightful place in nation building with a view to creating an enabling platform for them to thrive in thier contributions to the development of the society through meaningful Youth participation.
While addressing a Town Hall Meeting with the Ohaukwu Youth at Ngbo Development Union Town  Hall, the State Deputy Chief Lawmaker  maintained that there should be intent in giving the youth thier rightful place in nation building with a view of creating an enabling platform for them to thrive in thier contributions to the Development of the Society through meaningful youths participation.
He stressed on  meaningful youth participation to entail young people work in stages of decision making in organisations that can compete in equal terms with adults at a number of levels or alternatively work independently from adults and make decisions solely with the involvement of youth voices.
Rt Hon Onah maintained that what he is in the  government to do, is to seek an immediate solution to the needs and  challenges of the youths and at the same time encourage them in participatory politics and policy making procedures.
The Deputy Speaker however, warned the youth  to desist from the negative political participation including thuggery and equally disdain themselves from trivialities that can bring dishonour to Ohaukwu land.
He used the occasion to appreciate the Ohaukwu People for the trust reposed on him through the votes and for supporting the State Executive Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon.  Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru who has demonstrated the regards he has for the youth within the few months in office.
Earlier,  the Chairman of the occasion, Chief  Kelechi Onyeoma in an opening remark, commended the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Chinedu Onah for the Town Hall Meeting, adding that this is a better way for feedback mechanism in administration.
Speaking on inclusive representation for uniformed development of Ohaukwu and the way forward, different people,  including President Ngboejuogu Youth Forum, Bar Uche  Achi  Okpaga, the Commissioner for Capital City Development, Hon Sunday Inyima, Commissioner for Power, Hon Chief Peter Oge Ali and a member representing Ohaukwu North Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon Mrs Esther Agwu spoke on various issues, including cultism, drug abuse, communal crisis and security.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Internal Affairs in Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Mr. Tobias Ogbonna implored the youth to seek for peace in the face of provocation and always be security conscious.

In a remark, the Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Hon Ikechukwu Odono assured that his administration has been perfectly handling all the security challenges including resolving communal crisis in the area, adding that the youths should que behind the present government for the security situation in Ohaukwu to improve for better.
Others who attended the occasion and made contributions, include, the Secretary of Ngboejuogu,Mr Samuel Okpo, former chairman Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Hon Mrs Chinyere Elom, the SA to the Governor on Youth Mobilization, Hon Paul Eze, the APC Youth Leader in Ohaukwu, Comrade Benjamin Agina, Head of National Film and Video Censors Board, Mr Ejike Nwodo and Mr Moris Omeje of the Federal Water Resources Ministry, among others.
