Ebonyi Community Receives Primary Healthcare Services From USAID IHP

They people of Omege, Umuezeokoha Community in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have trooped out in their numbers to receive primary healthcare services from USAID IHP.

The primary healthcare programme which took place at Omege health centre, saw a great number of villagers like pregnant women, nursing mothers, children, elderly men and women, who came to receive the free medical services.

The USAID IHP medical team took time to register the patients, check their blood pressure, temperature, height, prescribe  drugs, counsel on  nutrition, family planning, immunization, among others.

According to the Integrated Supportive Supervisor/Quality Improvement Specialist, Mrs.Uduak Okum,  USAID IHP has done a lot to improve the healthcare services in many communities in Ebonyi State, adding that some patients with severe cases are being referred to general hospitals for proper  treatment.

She further noted that USAID IHP has built capacity to ensure that there is effective and efficient healthcare delivery in Ebonyi State.

Some of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Philomena Nwoba, Love Omenu and others, expressed satisfaction with the free medical services, saying that it has gone a long way to alleviate their medical challenges.

They also called on government to improve on the staff strength of the medical personnel and facilities in the healthcare centres in order to save more lives.
