Easter: Lagos NSCDC Deploys 2,000 Personnel

No fewer than 2,000 officers and men have been deployed by the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command Eweka Douglas Okoro to ensure adequate security and the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure in the state, before, during and after the celebration. 
The Commandant pointed out that it is germaine to turn on the eagle eye of security during festival celebrations as such and at all times. 
He said, “this effort, which is pragmatically strategic  will further help to get rid of criminals and utterly eradicate the nefarious activities of vandals and other criminal elements that could be inimical to the economic growth and development of the state.
This was contained in a release by the Command’s public relations officer ASCI Abolurun Oluwaseun made available to journalists.
It reads, Okoro, in a bid to ensure peace, tranquility and the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure; which include oil and gas pipelines, communication cables, rail stations, electrical cables and power installations, local and international airports and other property belonging to the Federal, State and Local Governments, amongst other critical assets, in the state, has today, 14th April, 2022, intentionalised and institutionalized new operational strategies in the State Command Headquarters, Area Commands, Divisional Offices, Right of ways and other tactical formations of the Command. 
” He went further to elucidate the significance of the Standard Operational Procedures(SOP) to the Head of Departments, Head of Units in the Command, six(6) Area Commanders, twenty(20) Divisional Officers, thirty-seven(37) officers-in-charge(OCs) of sub-divisions and outposts, Unit and Tactical Commanders.
” He also expediently charged the officers to bring the right and appropriate impetus on board to protect all strategic locations, points, facilities, right of ways, oil pipeline installations, religious and worship centres, parks and gardens and all assets belonging to the Federal, State and Local Governments of Nigeria, in the state, before, during and after the celebration, through the use of robust intelligence gathering, and processing, intensive patrols of land and creeks, physical and psychological, crime prevention mechanisms, Quick Intervention Squad approach (QIS), propagation of the school safety initiative through the Special Female Squad(SFS) to safeguard childlen during the event and collective security approach.
“FInally, the Commandant, while congratulating the Christian Faithfuls in the state, over this year’s Easter celebration, warned the officers and men deployed to various places in the state, to be on the alert as they discharge their duties without fear or favour of any kind. 
“He also further charged the officers and men deployed to remain professional, competent, respect the rights and privileges of the civil populace, in the course of discharging their duties, before, during and after the celebration”.
