Dwindling resources: OSSG to pay WAEC fees of students who pass four papers and above
By; Bayo Akamo, Ibadan.
The Permanent Secretary, Osun state Ministry of Education, Mr Lawrence Oyeniran has hinted that the state government will register only students that passed four papers including English Language and Mathematics in the last Mock Examination for the West African Senior Secondary Examination for this year.
Mr Oyeniran who dropped this hint in Osogbo, declared that parents and guardians of students with three papers and below are to pay for the WAEC registration of their children and wards.
The Permanent Secretary stressed that this was as a result of the dwindling resources accruing to the state from the Federation Account leaving the state government with no other conclusion than to share the payment of WAEC fees with parents and guardians of students.
He asked parents and wards of the affected students to pay within two weeks in order to meet the extension of time granted by WAEC.
