The acting rector, Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, Alhaji Sanusi Umar Kofar Sauri has advise students to drop all bad habits and concentrate on their studies in order to become successful.
Kofar Sauri gave the advise at the 30th Matriculation ceremony of the institution held at the school’s convocation square in Kaura Namoda.
“Drop every bad habit likely to prevent you from achieving your goal in this special environment. This will be  in your best interest in addition to the best interest of your parents, communities and the country as a whole,” he advised.
The acting rector added that discipline and hard work are the key elements which the students must embrace.
“You are here to learn only what will be useful to you and the society. Cultism, examination malpractice, prostitution and other acts of sexual immorality are all inimical to human progress,” he said.
Kofar Sauri said efforts must be put in place by stakeholders of tertiary institutions in the country to achieve tranquility in the education system.
“The unfortunate crisis in most of the education institutions in Nigeria stems mainly from misguided attitude. Starting from the students through the staff to the management teams, attitudinal problems often jeopardize peace in our schools,” he said.
The acting rector appealed to governor Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar of Zamfara state to aid the institution especially in the areas of road construction and completion of hostels.
