The attention of Lungu Lungu under the leadership of Abdulhamid Yahaya has been drawn to a petition written and signed against the immediate past Governor of Kano state Dr Abdullahi Ganduje by one Umar Ibrahim Umar of War Against Injustice.
As responsible members of the society, it is important to present accurate information and facts to the public.
Therefore, it is necessary to address the recent petition against former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, which accuses him of corruption and presents a video allegedly showing him collecting dollars.
Firstly, it is important to note that the authenticity of the video in question has been called into question by many experts in the field of digital forensics.
Many have suggested that the video has been doctored or manipulated using AI technology. This means that the video is not a true representation of what actually happened.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that Governor Ganduje has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has challenged those accusing him of corruption to provide credible evidence to support their claims. In fact, the governor has taken legal action against some media houses and individuals who have published defamatory statements against him.
It is also worth noting that Governor Ganduje’s administration has been widely recognized for its efforts to promote transparency and accountability in governance.
For example, under his leadership, Kano State became the first state in Nigeria to establish a public complaints and anti-corruption commission, which has been instrumental in investigating and prosecuting cases of corruption in the state.
Former Governor Ganduje’s administration has implemented several policies and programs aimed at improving the lives of the people of Kano State.
These include the provision of free education for all Kano State residents, the construction of new hospitals and health centers, and the establishment of a microfinance bank to provide financial support to small business owners.
The only motive for this fallacy is to tarnish his hard earned reputation just for the sole purpose of politics. It is obvious that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu holds him high as a result of his absolute loyalty and great personality, hence the need to pull him down at all cost using State apparatus.
Dr Abdullahi Ganduje is fallible just like every mortal, however, the president should not allow the use of state in subjecting him to humiliation in the hands of his political opponents on the basis of kangaroo and fictitious petition. It is withing the legal framework of law enforcement to investigate anyone but not to arrest someone just because someone asked them to base on their own version of the truth.
While it is important to investigate and prosecute cases of corruption in Nigeria, it is equally important to ensure that accusations are based on credible evidence.
The allegations against former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State is baseless and premature to make judgments based on a video whose authenticity is questionable. We should all remain responsible and refrain from spreading unverified information that could tarnish the reputation of individuals and institutions.
