Don’t alienate yourself from Yoruba culture & tradition – Araba of USA urges Ooni.
By;  BAYO AKAMO, Ibadan.
The Araba of United State of America, Chief Dayo Ologundudu has advised the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi not to alienate himself from the culture and tradition of the Yoruba people.
The Araba in a congratulatory message to Ooni Ogunwusi lauded the choice of the new royal father, saying, “his choice is the choice of the people and the oracle.
“Ile Ife people have had their prayer answered with the choice of Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi because part of our demands from the gods is a young and enthusiastic Oba who will have the zeal and energy to effectively function as a true Arole Oduduwa which Ooni represents,” he said.
Araba Ologundudu added that “as the Arole Oduduwa and Chief custodian of Yoruba culture and tradition, he should  make sure  he protect and defend the integrity of Yoruba race not just in Ile Ife and Nigeria but across the world. He should relate with culturally oriented institutions and people who are working to take the race to a greater height”.
The Araba who recently warned against likely influence of the Kingmakers and politicians on the choice of the Oracles, asked the new Ooni to always seek the counsel of the elders and see things for himself before deciding on issues that affect the town and Yoruba race at large.
“He as the King should see things for himself and investigate matters before taking actions. I am happy for him and from the feelings around, people are happy and I joined the world to congratulate him and wish him peaceful and prosperous reign as Ooni of Ife”.
