Kogi State Police Command has warned those alleging the  disappearance of their male organs in the state to desist henceforth.

The state Commissioner, CP Bethrand C. Onuoha, called on the residents of Lokoja and its environs to desist from peddling unfounded information regarding  disappearance of male organs that is currently trending in the state capital.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), of the command, SP William Ovye Aya, some of the allegations have been investigated both by the Police and medical practitioners which turned out to be false.

The commissioner therefore, warned that anybody caught disturbing the public peace would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The Police Commissioner opined that the false information is aimed at inciting public disturbance, creating fear and disrupting the peaceful environment the state hitherto is basking in.

Disturbed by this trend, the Police he said, is planning tough measures including prosecution of peddlers of such information against false alarmists to deter the trend.

The Commissioner  warned members of the public to desist from taking law into their own hands by carrying out jungle justice that may emanate from unfounded information, saying that the Command has deployed its Security assets to detect individuals behind peddling rumour that has so far led to the attack on innocent citizens.

“Therefore anybody caught taking law into his own hands will be prosecuted according to the law”, the statement added.

Rather he enjoins the good people of Kogi State to remain security conscious and report anything that looks suspicious in their areas to the Police.
