The Director General of Nigeria Nuclear Regulatory Authority Dr.Yau Idris has described the on-giong Nigeria International Energy Summit as a summit that will enhance Nigeria and Africa’s renewable energy prospect.
Dr. Idris stated this in an interview with newsmen on the sidelines of the NIES 2022 summit taking place in ICC, Abuja.
The DG explained that Nigeria, following efforts by the developed countries to move away from fossil fuel to renewable energy, Nigeria and Africa should be given enough time for its gradual transition from hydrocarbon usage adding that the Nigeria Nuclear Regulatory Authority and the energy commission are critical stakeholders that should be supported for Nigeria on the next way forward for the country.
