Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria has called on the general public to shun people parading themselves as agents of Depot NA to avoid been defrauded.
In a statement signed by the Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Depot Nigerian Army, Major Sunday Mbsneme and made available to newsmen in Zaria stated that, the attention of the Depot NA had been drawn to the matter.
He said those parading themselves as agents of Depot NA are fraudulently extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public who are desperately ready to be enlisted into the Nigerian Army.
According to the release, investigations revealed that the fraudsters promise their victims of replacing recruits found with credentials and BVN irregularities with their names.
“In view of the aforementioned, it is imperative to alert members of the public that Depot Nigerian Army does not have any agents for recruitment and such arrangement does not exist in the revered Army Institution,” it stated.
The release further stated that the recruitment exercise has since been concluded for the 78 Regular Recruits Intake who are presently on training.
“Efforts are in progress to nab the fraudsters for proper investigation and prosecution accordingly,” it assured.
