The Magistrate’s Court 2 sitting in Ughelli Delta State on Tuesday March 6 imprisoned a fake lawyer Anthony Obayendo without an option of fine.
The fake lawyer who was arrested on 4th of January was arraigned on eight count charges bordering on alleged impersonation and obtaining by false pretence.
The fake lawyer pleaded guilty to count 7 after the charges were read to him by the Court.
Accordingly, the Police withdrew Count 7 but the Investigating Police Officer (IPO), One Barr. Nelson of the legal Section, Zone 5 in Benin-City gave evidence of facts against the accused.
The accused person also pleaded guilty to charges and the Court in her judgement found the fake lawyer guilty of count 1 and sentenced him to three years imprisonment without option of fine.
The Court also found the accused guilty of 2 and sentenced him to four years imprisonment.
The Court also found him guilty on Counts 3,4,5,6 and 7 and sentenced him to three years imprisonment without option of fine.
The Court said the sentences are to run concurrently.
