Katagum Local Government Council Caretaker Chairman in Bauchi State, Mohammed Daji Wakili has described as excellent idea the enlightenment campaigns embarked upon by the Democratic Enlightenment Initiative (DEI), a non-governmental organization saddled with the responsibility of raising people’s awareness on policies and programmes of the state government.
The Katagum council chairman Friday while receiving officials of the Initiative said however that the awareness drive deserve the financial support of the state government, as well as the moral support of the generality of the people at the grassroots.
Daji, who during the occasion bagged DEI patron of Katagum Local Government, advised the democrats to in their enlightenment crusade place more emphasis to rural dwellers that, he observed, are being bombarded with concocted stories about the APC administration in the state.

Daji told DEI, “Your job is dynamic and crucial in facilitating the upliftment of the common man. It is the naked truth which requires necessary funds to achieve the desired goal of educating the people on policies and programmes of the government.
Alhaji Mohammed Daji also called for the involvement of all stakeholders to raise the awareness of the people, stressing the need to brainstorm on the concept with a view to further it to tailor the needs of the government and the governed.
He also expressed dismay that the immediate past administration in the state left most of the Local Government Secretariats    at the mercy of termites with cracks on most of the walls.
