In a move that is expected to change the existing permutations, a big fish from Southern Kaduna, Chief Anthony Hassan Dokajen Jaba has finally declared intention to contest the Senatorial Seat of the zone.
A statement jointly signed by Yusuf Usmaniyya, Gudion Daniel Kurahand Solomon Bala Garkuwa on behalf of Dokajen Jaba Support Group 2023, made available on Wednesday May 11, 2022, said that he made his intentions known after concluding consultation with key stakeholders.
“After concluding consultation with various stakeholders, Government officials, grassroots political influencers and major religious leaders, Chief Anthony Hassan Dokajen Jaba; has decided to declare his intention to contest for the seat of Senator Zone 3,” it said.
The statement informed that Governor Nasir el-Rufai has also been contacted by the aspirant, who will be contesting under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“He also has the nod of the Governor, while he calls on all his supporters to be patient with him f following his long silence, which was caused by the process of negotiation and consultation.
“He appealed for people across the Southern Kaduna to embark on prayers of goodwill, success and victory while remaining resolute in the pursuit of our objectives,” it said.
Chief Anthony Hassan is the founder NOK University Kachia and his decision to contest has been welcomed by major stakeholders in the zone.
