Immediate past President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has described the death of the wife of former Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro, Mrs Veronica Moro as shocking and painful.
In a statement signed by his Media Assistant Paul Mumeh, Senator Mark who visited the Abuja residence of the Moros along with his wife Helen yesterday over the demise of Veronica said her death is one tragedy too many.
He said: “I am pained and shocked by Vero’s untimely death. I wish I have the power to reverse it. I cannot question the will of God, but I wish Vero stayed a few years longer.
“She was a dedicated wife and mother to all. A virtuous woman who upheld the sanctity of womanhood. We shall miss her candour, simplicity and honesty which endeared her to many.”
Senator Mark recalled that late Veronica was a humble and hardworking woman who stood firm by her husband to build a noble family.
He therefore, told the former Minister to take solace in the fact that his late wife left a positive legacy worthy of emulation.
Senator Mark counseled Moro to be strong for the children, believing that late Veronica will rest in the bosom of the Almighty God.
