Dangote to establish Sugar Factory in Kebbi

Dangote Group of Companies in collaboration with Kebbi State Government is to establish a sugar factory in Koko/Besse and Shanga Local Government Areas aimed at curtailing the rate of unemployment in the state.
Already, a twelve member committee has been set up to advice government on where the company would be sited and also the manner people in the affected areas would benefit from the firm.
Committee leader, Alhaji Abubakar Babuga told journalists in Birnin Kebbi that the committee members have gone round the areas where the company would be cited, discussed with farmland owners on how they would be compensated, as well as benefit from the project.
Also speaking, the representative of Dangote Group, Engr. Hamid Aishirif who is also the North West Coordinator of the sugar project, revealed that if the factory is established, it would be the biggest in Africa.
Aishirif added that the factory would employ about forty thousand youths and the communities will benefit from schools, roads, electricity and other human resources development.
