CSR: AFCSC Offers Food Stuff,   Free Medical Outreach To Host Community

Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji has distributed food items and offered free medical services to Jaji Community  and environs as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The palliatives distribution and medical outreach gesture was done by the  military institution as part its bi-annual programme to assess students’ understanding of counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations.

Foodstuff distributed included bags of rice, maize, beans, tomato paste, vegetable oil and  other  food items.

Also given out to the communities included,   treated mosquito nets and mattresses while blood pressure and sugar level checks among other medical services were offered free of charge to beneficiaries in communities with proximity to the College .

Benefiting communities are, Wusono and Ungwar Lauya in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

While expressing satisfaction with high level of training impacted on the Junior Course 94 the Commandant AFCSC AVM Olurotimi Tuwase revealed that the aim of the exercise was to evaluate students on practical aspects of what they learnt in collaboration with other sister security agencies.

AVM Tuwase was  represented by the College Director of Logistics , Cmdr. Promise Dappa who said the trainees demonstrated clear understanding of what they were taught in the classroom , adding that the exercise comprised of combat phase , planning operations and execution, gun attack among others.

The commandant assured Nigerians of improved and better performance by security agencies in the fight against insurgency, banditry and other forms of insecurity in theatres of war and across the country.

” I assure you with the level of training impacted on the students , they are now better equipped to confront all forms of security challenges bedeviling our beloved nation.

” Let me use this opportunity to enjoin members of the public to support the armed forces and other security agencies by availing useful , timely and credible information to enable us carry our duty of protection of  lives and property and above all safeguarding territorial integrity of the country , ” he appealed.

Ward Head of Wusono, Alhaji Sani Ussaini commended the military for the kind gesture , adding that the humanitarian supports would go a long way to cushion the effects of economic bottleneck experienced in the communities .

Also speaking, Village Head of Ungwar Lauya in Wusono Area,  lauded efforts of the college in providing succour to the people, assuring to complement efforts of the military by providing useful information on happenings around the community.

Participating agencies in the exercise included the Red Cross and  National Emergency Management Agency  (NEMA).
