The gubernatorial candidate for the All Progressives’ Congress (APC), Cross River State, Senator John Owan Enoh, has appealed to the state governor, Senator Ben Ayade’s to allow a peaceful and violent free campaigns in the northern Senatorial district as it kick starka its campaign on January 14, 2019.
He made the appeal while briefing newsmen to officially announce his campaign proper from the northern Senatorial district with the theme “Better Days Are Possible Again”.
The Northern Senatorial district is made up of five local government areas. They are Ogoja, Bekwarra, Obudu, Obanliku and Yala.
He said that there are rumours that the governor had ordered all his political appointees to relocate to their villages as soon as he got the calendar of our campaign.
This development, he said, does not augur well as it is feared that “they are planning to distrupt my campaign”.
Governor Ayade should not do anything that will cause the loss of blood or death of Cross Riverians, he warned.
He promised to run a violent free campaigns beginning from the northern, Central and Southern Senatorial districts and hoped that the People’s Democratic party will do same.
“Ayade, he said, should allow our campaign to hold. He should show an examplary leadership quality by not trying to directly or indirectly cause violence during our campaign”.
According to him, “if you have done well in the past three years, you don’t need to be afraid or create unnecessary anxiety for yourself because of an election”.
However, he reassured that his campaign will be as civil as possible, as the lives of every Cross Riverians are very important.
While promising to return Cross River State to its better days, he described the ongoing litigation as “unnecessary because the matter has been dismissed in a 99 page judgement.
Earlier, he had commended the media for being objective in the reportage of APC activities before and after the primaries in the state.
