The Congress of Northern Nigeria Christians (CNNC), Kaduna State chapter, has said that it has observed with concerns the  incessant killings and destruction of property in different parts of the state, calling on all Christians to commit themselves with all seriousness, prayers and fasting for the living God to intervene in the situation.
CNNC noted that time has come for the federal and Kaduna State governments to take steps towards rehabilitating those whose houses were burnt by the attackers with a view of giving them a sense of belonging and helping them return back to life.
A statement issued by the state chairman of CNNC, Elder Bulus Dogara, commiserated with the people of Agban Kagoro, Kaura Local Government Area and part of Jema’a Local Government Area for what the statement called “unfortunate” attack by suspected  militia, causing the loss of lives and destruction of properties.
He observed, “The incident is coming when the Southern part of the state is experiencing some relief of attacks by the suspected Fulani militias who had caused the loss of lives and destruction of properties in billions of naira for quite some times in the area. This devastating situation has left many homes destroyed as some villages in Southern Kaduna with some homes completely been wiped away by the attackers.”
He added, “The situation has also made many especially women and children living in various camps across Southern Kaduna and others living in critical conditions with their relatives or neighbours elsewhere in order to survive.”
The statement stated that the most worrying situation is since the attacks have brought untold hardships with many losing their homes, foodstuffs and other valuables, there hasn’t been any concrete steps taken by the authorities concerned to arrest the perpetrators of this inhuman act nor has the government taken proactive steps towards alleviating the plight of these innocent people so that they will start life afresh.
Following all the attacks that have been going on in various parts of Southern Kaduna villages, the CNNC, therefore, strongly condemned the unwanted destruction of lives and properties that have been going on unabated and called on government with a loud voice to immediately rescue the lives and properties of people by safeguarding them against enemies of progress in the society.
The group appealed, “The federal and Kaduna state governments should immediately take steps towards rehabilitating those whose houses were burned by the attackers with a view of giving them a sense of belonging and help them return back to life.”
The statement advised that government should take drastic steps to deal with any group of people found to be causing the breach of peace in any part of the state towards ensuring a peaceful coexistence in the state.
The group encouraged all and sundry to endeavour to keep the peace as much as possible and continuously alert the security agencies of any suspicious movement of people unknown to them for immediate intervention for peace to reign.
