COVID-19: Jigawa Tests 1,450 Samples, 201 Positive, 71 Discharged, 3 Dead

Recent reports from Jigawa State has indicated that the state has tested 1,450 samples of CoronaVirus out of the figure, 201 were  positive, while 71 were discharged with three dead.
Governor Badaru Abubakar  disclosed this  while briefing newsmen at the State Government House Dutse.
He called for collaborative efforts amongst members of the state task force on COVID-19, other stakeholders, and members of the public to redouble efforts in the fight to further prevent the spread of the pandemic across the state.
“In realisation of our set objectives, all hands must be on deck in taking a holistic approach in our resolve towards the eradication of the pandemic.
“Presently we have 127 of our patient’s who are responding to medical treatment in our various isolation centres in the state capital, Dutse,” he said, assuring that efforts are geared towards scalling-up their 280 bed space to 450.
According to him, with their level of commitment in terms of provision of quality medical personnel, medication, and modern working facilities at the moment, they are on course towards the fight against the spread of COVID-19 from further endangering their environment.
He commended the management of both UBA, NNPC, and Fidelity Bank for their kind concern in offering positive assistance of cash, and medical equipment in supporting them in their quest to combat the menace of CoronaVirus pandemic in their state.
It would be recalled that UBA  Plc had earlier donated N28.5 million to Jigawa State Government, followed by Fidelity Bank, N5 million, Dangote Group of Companies, cash donations of N200m,  former IGP, Suleiman Abba who presented preventive and protective accessories worth N2.7m, and the NNPC which donated ambulance among other medications.
