Court remands 50yr old man in prison over death of concubine during sex

An Oyo State Chief Magistrates Court sitting in Ibadan on Tuesday remanded a 50- year old man in prison for allegedly causing the death of his concubine.
The 50 year old man, Fatai Busari was said to have allegedly drank herbal aphrodisiac before having sex with his 48-year-old concubine, Sadiat Adejuwon.
According to the Prosecutor, Corporal Salewa Hammed, Busari on October 10, at about 3.00p.m at Asaka area, Ibadan, unlawfully caused the death of one Sadiat Adejuwon, 48 a casual worker cleaning the street with Busari.
Arraigning Busari, on a one- count charge of causing death, the Prosecutor told the court that the death of Adejuwon occurred while Busari was having carnal knowledge of her in his house.
The prosecutor added that on the fateful day, Busari allegedly drank the herbal concoction to boost his manhood before sleeping with her after which he realised that something was amiss when he noticed blood flowing out of Adejuwon’s private part.
The prosecutor added that the 48year old woman reportedly died on the spot after which Busari raised alarm.
The prosecutor then told the court that the offence committed contravened section 316 and was punishable under section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Chief Magistrate Mrs Abiona Richard while adjourning the case till November 30 for mention, ordered that Busari be remanded at Agodi prison, pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
