Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA), has commended Caleb Danladi Foundation (CDF), for its pledge to support the agency to enrol more women to access the to scheme’s health benefits, especially those in the rural areas.
The Director General of the state agency, Abubakar Hassan gave the commendation when the founder and CEO of the foundation, Mr. Caleb Danladi Bako, paid him a fact finding visit with the view to complementing the government’s efforts.
The DG said, “We’re happy with Caleb Foundation’s CEO today, who has come on a fact finding mission to support what government is doing and compliment the efforts of government in communities in Kaduna State in healthcare services.
“We’re glad that well to do and kind hearted individuals are coming to give back to the people in the community, in helping the government to reduce maternal and child mortality, which is still high in Kaduna State.
“Helping to address pregnant women and child birth who cannot afford it, is highly commendable. We use this opportunity to call on other well meaning indigenes of Kaduna State who are politicians, businessmen and professionals out there, to emulate Caleb Danladi Foundation’s gesture.
“You never can tell, you can just save one life. All you need to do is to pay N10,650 which is the premium for one full year for someone to be able to go to the hospital whenever he or she has a health related issue,” he said.
Earlier, the agency’s Head of Admin and Finance, Suleiman Mustapha briefed the foundation’s CEO on the workings of the health scheme, adding that the health benefit package is financed from contributions made by interested individuals or families.
According to Mustapha, contribution rates for individual subscribers ranges from N10,477 per annum (N873 per month); N57,935 per annum as family contribution (N4,820 per month) for four biological related persons, amongst others.
He said some of the primary care benefit package include providing package to enrollee by the primary care facilities with physical services, in patients services, diagnostic lab tests among others.

Earlier, the founder and CEO of the foundation, Mr. Bako said his visit is on how to support people in the village to key into the KADCHMA.
“The foundation has taken it as a mandate to enrol the less privileged ones, particularly women who die during giving birth, and children.
“The reason for this maternal and child mortality rate going high is because they don’t have access to basic healthcare services to take care of the mother and child during pregnancy.
“The issue we discussed with the DG is on the areas of possible collaboration for the enrolment of less privilege especially in rural areas in Kaduna State. The project is going to start in Jaba LGA of the state as a pilot LG and gradually extend to other LGAs,” he informed.
Caleb Danladi said he was in a facilities in Kafanchan area of the state and saw what some women were going through, which gave him the initiative to use his foundation to support health insertion beginning from the rural areas.
