A Magistrate court IV sitting in Isabo area of Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital has sentenced to one month imprisonment each, three chiefs of Ilugun Oke – Ona Egbaland for contravening its order which restricted them from entering into Ogboni Confraternity hall in Ilugun area of Abeokua North Local government.
The three were Kamoru Adeniran, Ishaq Soyinka and Ayinde Akintoye who were arrested by the police and taken to court in suit number: MA/330/C/2016 last Friday November 18, 2016 for forceful entry into the Ogboni Confraternity Hall in Ilugun.
New Nigerian learnt  that the Magistrate court, presided over by Magistrate Anthony Araba had earlier in the year 2015, ordered that the Ogboni Confraternity Hall in Ilugun be sealed up following the crisis which erupted in Ilugun town over a chieftaincy title.
But three of the Contemnors went into the Ogboni Hall, broke the padlocks and the court Seal and thereafter, forced their ways into the Ogboni hall in contravention of the Magistrate Araba’s order.
The development however, compelled the police from the Eleweran Command headquarters to arrest the trio of chiefs: Adeniran, Soyinka and Akintoye and arraigned them in suit number: MA/330/C/2016 at the Magistrate Court IV in Isabo, Abeokuta.

The police however, exempted the two other contemnors: Chiefs Rafiu Sanni Bankole and Jimoh Alabede from appearing in court on the ground of ill health due to old age.

Delivering judgment last Friday over the matter however, the Magistrate Court IV, presided over by Magistrate Jide Ilo ordered that the trio of chiefs: Adeniran, Soyinka and Akintoye be committed to one month imprisonment without any option of fine.
