Confusion has griped members of the major political parties in Jigawa State as mass exodus  befell People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) members, who  migrated to the New NIgeria People’s Party (NNPP.)
Over 300,000 members from the All Progressive Congress (APC)  People Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties signed out of the parties to  the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) from across the 27 local government areas of the state.
This development has made the NNPP to clinch its position as a third force in the Nigerian political arena, following the agitation of decamping of former Kano State Governor, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwso and many political bigwigs into the party from across the country.
Speaking to newsmen in Dutse, the Jigawa State chairman of New Nigeria Peoples Party, Hon Gambo Ibrahim Alawo said the meeting of the party state caucus has welcomed the new development.
He said the meeting has reviewed the reports they gathered from across the state which show that over 300,000 people have embraced their party, the NNPP.
Hon Alawo explained that NNPP welcomes everyone wishing to identify with them, being a party for all and sundry, and promised to provide enabling environment for every member of the party to pursue his or her legitimate democratic right and interest in accordance with the party’s rules and regulations and that of  the Nigerian constitution.
“We will treat every party member with dignity, respect , justice, fairness and mutual equality and also promote internal democracy.
“However, the party caucus calls on every person  interested in joining the party to follow proper channels for their membership registration to avoid any errors that might have adverse effects on the party’s bright chances of winning election in Jigawa and Nigeria in the forthcoming 2023 general elections,”  he explained.
Hon Gambo added that they are aware  that some political parties are jittery over the new development, but NNPP will not deter in its resolve at ensuring it takes over Jigawa and Nigeria in the forthcoming general elections.
“We are going to provide an alternative platform, a reliable force that will rescue Nigeria from two decades of maladministration, nepotism, embezzlement of public funds and corruption which retarde our country’s progress and development,” he declared.
