Confusion As SDP Holds Parallel Congresses In Oyo State

Members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo State, held parallel congresses to elect state executive members for the party in the state. At the parallel congresses held simultaneously at different locations by the two factions in the party, two sets of executive members emerged for the party in Oyo State.
While one of the factions held their Congress at the National Museum of Unity, Aleshinloye, Ibadan, the other faction conducted their congress at Havanah Royale, besides University of Ibadan. 
The congress  at the National Museum, Aleshinloye area of Ibadan produced Mr. Yinka Folahan as Chairman, Mr Kola Balogun emerged as the Chairman at theHavanah Royale congress.
Other members that emerged with  Mr Folahan at Aleshinloye congress are; Leye Egunobi who emerged as Secretary, Dasola Adebayo who emerged as Women leader, Otunba Tunde Laoye who emerged as Public Relatives Officer, Princess Kemi Oshinowo who emerged as Organising Secretary and Akintan Oladele who emerged as Youths leader. 
Speaking after his election, Mr Folahan said the congress that produced him as the Oyo state SDP Chairman was attended by all the party executive from the 33 local government areas in the state. 
Mr Folahan stressed that the congress was conducted by the outgoing Chairman of the party, Ambassador Olugbenga Curtis, saying, ” all the party executives from all the local government are there present. It was conducted by the outgoing Chairman”.
