Concerned Citizens Of Southern Kaduna Embark On Peace Mission

Prominent sons and daughters of Southern Kaduna, under the aegis of “Concerned Citizens of Southern Kaduna” have embarked on a mission to preach peace, Unity and good politics that would enhance the development of the area.
 
Addressing the Kpop Gwong, Mr. Paul Z. Wyom, His traditional council, people of Jema’a Local Government on Tuesday, chairman of the forum, retired Air Commodore
Jakada said there was need for the people of area to look inward and change from politics of hate, blame game, to that of support of Government in power so as to fast-track development.
 
Retired Commodore Jakada said the forum’s membership which cuts across ethnic, religious and gender divide with each Local Government represented, noted with dismay that the current way of playing politics, in which all belongs to one party, black mail and hatred  exhibited, are inimical to the peace, unity and well being of the area.
 
Calling for a change of attitude, Jakada asserted that their mission does not betray or replaces the work of the various tribal unions that make up SOKAPU, Christian Association of Nigeria CAN and Jamaatu Nasir Islam, JNI, rather it complements their efforts.
 
He advised that abandoned projects or those poorly executed, be compiled and forwarded to Government through the chiefs and Administrators of the various Local Governments and a copy sent to the forum, assuring that the Governor who gives the forum a listening ear, would be contacted faster, thereby cutting bureaucracy.
 
He advised the various chiefdoms to select five persons, who would be working with the forum on project monitoring, adding that similar committees should be established in each ward and village level.
 
The Administrator Jema’a Local Government Alh. Yusuf Mua’zu Usman who accompanied the forum to the palace expressed gratitude for the visit and explained that insecurity in the area was responsible for the delay in the execution of projects, assuring that contractors have been mobilized to sites as relative peace was being recorded
 
Appreciating Governor Mal. Ahmad Nasir EL-Rufai, traditional and religious leaders and security agencies for working tirelessly to ensure peace returns, the Administrator solicited the corporation and support of all residents in Southern Kaduna to sustain peaceful co-existence that would enable, government and the private sector, implements developmental projects/programmes.
 
Responding on behalf the Kpop Gwong, Mr. Paul Z. Wyom, represented by the Gwong Traditional Council Secretary Mr. Saleh Banda appreciated the visit of the concerned citizens, pointing that their contributions would in no small measure promote good governance and peaceful co-existence in the area and the state in general; assuring good working relationship with the forum.
 
Appreciating Governor Nasir EL-Rufai for the appointment of sons and daughters of the chiefdom to work in his Government, the Kpop Gwong assured that his council and the Gwong community will continue to support Government in all developmental policies, projects and programmes.
