The Registrar Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria, Dr. Bashir Idris has said that, Community Health is the bedrock of healthcare system.
He stated this at the opening ceremony of the 2024 mandatory continuing professional programme for primary healthcare tutors at Kongo Conference Hotel, Zaria.
Dr. Idris said, practitioners commitment to excellence directly impact the quality of health services across the nation.
According to him, their meeting was not merely a programme, but a pivotal step towards elevating educational standards and professional practices.
The Registrar used the occasion to encourage every PHC Tutor to pursue higher academic and professional qualifications through their newly established Community Health Institute and collaborative universities, ensuring that they can remain at the forefront of health education and practice.
He urged the participants to actively engage with the topics, embrace digital transformation and support innovation that will drive their profession forward.
In his message, the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli charged the community health professionals to make use of the programme towards promoting healthcare services in Nigeria.
Emir Bamalli who was represented by the Wakilin Asibitin Zazzau, Alhaji Samaila Ahmed Bambale, said their profession is very important to human life.
Also in his remarks, the President of National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACCPN) Comrade Alhaji Kabiru Yahaya Ahmed said they are moving forward as the world is digitalizing activities.
Yahaya Ahmed said the training of Community Health Tutors on ICT and digital transform in teaching and learning is one of the association cardinal objective.
He enjoined all community health practitioners to switch their activities into digital because henceforth, all lectures and examinations will be conducted via its apps.
