Commercial bus crushes twin school children to death, injures other in Ogun

A commercial mini-bus Friday crushed two twin sisters to death in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital
The incident occurred around 8am at Ita-Oshin area of Abeokuta metropolis and involved a Toyota Picnic mini-bus with registration number (LAGOS) KTU 175 DZ on its way from Sango – Ota.
The deceased, 8-years old twins, were identified as Adijat and Mutmainat Edunjobi who were said to have died on the spot, while their 14 years old elder brother was critically injured.

gathered that the driver of the mini-bus was identified as Adewale Ojo, and said to be on a high speed, before the vehicle rammed over the pupils, killing them instantly.
An eyewitness told journalists that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at the Neuro-Pyschiatric Hospital, Aro while their brother was also receiving treatment at the same hospital.
“We heard a sound and we quickly rushed down before we realised that a vehicle had knocked down some pupils in school uniform.
“We immediately stopped a taxi and took the children to the hospital and the nurses tried their best. But they later confirmed that the girls were dead while their brother is responding to treatment”.
Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adegoke Adetunji, who confirmed the accident, blamed the driver for dangerous driving, saying that he lost control and ran over the children.
“We got the report of the accident, which happened around 8am at Ita Oshin area of Abeokuta.
“We gathered that the Toyota Picnic bus with registration number KTU 175 DZ was coming from Sango”.
