Colourful Ending As Dallet Spikers Win 2nd Kaduna Inter Barracks U-19 Volleyball

It was excitement and fanfare at the courts of the Kotoko Barracks on Saturday night, as hard fighting Dalet Barracks Spikers spiked their way to victory to be crowned champions of the second edition Kaduna U-19 Inter Barracks Volleyball Championship.

Their efforts sea them go home with a giant trophy, medals and a cash prize of N200,000.

They claimed the top prize after scoring maximum nine points  from three matches played, overpowering their opponents in all matches played in the round Robbin fixture.

Second position went to Bayonet Spikers of Jaji, who won two out of their three matches, garnering six points in the process.

They were rewarded with a trophy, medals, and N150,000 cash prize.

Hosts, Stallions of Ribadu Cantonment settled for the third spot after picking three points from a win over the weeping side, Air Force Base Hawks who failed to win any of their matches.

Stallions were consoled after they received a trophy, medals and N100,000 cash prize.

Base Hawks finished fourth and would be banking on experience gathered to gather steam to make an impression in the next edition.

In the individual prizes category, 

Best Libero went to 

Bayonet’s Noah Joshua, Best Server to  Base Hawk’s

   Isah Ibrahim and Best Setter went to 

Bayonet’s  Musa Hamza.

Others are, Best Opposite, won by 

Stallions’ Sylvester Charity, Best Blocker,  Bayonet’s Ishaku Dogara and  Best Outside Hitter,  Bayonet’s   Peter Sapele.

The Most Valuable Player Award was claimed by Dalet’s    Abubakar Abdulazeez.

In his remarks at the closing ceremony, Chairman of Ex-Ribadu Cantonment Boys and Girls (ERCBG), Mr Godwin Iwomoh said that the championship lived up to its billing, in view of the number of talented players spotted.

He commended the sole sponsor, Engineer Musa Nimrod, who is the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), as well as the Chairman of Kaduna State Volleyball Association (KADSVA)  for giving back to the society.

The Kaduna State U-19 Inter Barracks Volleyball Championship  was held between January  18 to  21, 2023 at the  Kotoko Barracks.

It was organised by Kaduna State Volleyball Association (KADSVA) in In collaboration with Ex-Ribadu Cantonment Boys and Girls (ERCBG).
