COAS Donates N1M To Bauchi Vigilantes

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Tukur Burutai has donated the sum of one million naira (N1m) for the purchase of tools to a team of vigilantes and local hunters in Darazo Local Government Area in Bauchi state
The Brigade Commander, 33 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army Bauchi, Brigadier A. I Dusu who presented the donation in Darazo on behalf of the COAS, said that General Tukur Buratai was particularly delighted that vigilantes and hunters have been consistent in their support services.
The Chief of Army Staff commended the security committee of Darazo Local Government Council and the entire people of the area for their commitment to security issues, and urged them to continue in that direction.
In an address, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Darazo local government, Alhaji Baba Danlawan Hamza, expressed gratitude for the assistance and assured of his council’s continued support to the vigilantes and hunters to enable them offer more of their voluntary security services.
Alhaji Danlawan Hamza, however, commended the APC led administration in both the Federal and State levels as well as the Chief of Army Staff for their commitment towards the security of lives and property of the citizenry.
In a remark on behalf of the beneficiaries, Alhaji Abdu Latus, thanked the Nigerian Army for the gesture and assured their readiness to do more.
On his part, the District Head of Darazo, Alhaji Bababa Ibrahim, pledged to mobilize his subjects to continue to support and assist the security towards the protection of lives and property of the people as well as peaceful coexistence amongst the various communities dwelling in the area.
