COAS Declares NASLS Training Workshop Open In Zaria

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahya has declared open Nigerian Army School of Legal Services (NASLS) Training Workshop at Abdulrahman Danbazau Auditorium in Basawa Barracks, Zaria. 

The Chief of Army Staff who was represented by the Commander Training Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Nigerian Army, Major General S.O. Olabanji, appreciated the Commandant NASLS and the organizing committee for the workshop.

The Army Chief said the workshop is geared towards accountability of the Nigerian Military Justice in accordance with the Constitution of Nigeria, Laws of the Armed Forces and International Humanitarian Law also to achieve the COAS’s vision which is, “A Professional Nigerian Army Ready To Accomplish Assigned Mission Within A Joint Environment In Defence Of Nigeria”.  

He  charged participants to make use of the opportunity. 

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commandant NASLS, Brigadier General H.U. Ande appreciated the Chief of Army Staff and other Specially invited guests for honouring the invitation. 

The workshop had in attendance seasoned senior officers among whom were, Chief of Training (Army) represented by the Commandant Depot Nigerian Army, Representative of Commander Infantry Corp, Representative of the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Director Legal Services Army, Commandant Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Center, Representative of Commandant Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Commandant Nigerian Army School of Military Police, Commandant Nigerian Military School and Commandant Army School of Legal Services.

Other dignitaries include, Dean Faculty of Law ABU Zaria, Area Commander Zaria Police Command, Chairman Nigerian Bar Association Zaria Branch,  amongst others.

The opening lecture was by Colonel T.S. Nurseman (Rtd), amongst others.  Discussion and interactive session, presentation of souvenirs to the special guests also featured. 

The theme of the workshop was “Sustaining Military Discipline Through Transparent Military Justice”.
