A goal feast is being witnessed at the maiden edition of Hajia (Dr). Aisha Bala Mohammed YSFON U-15 Boys Football Tournament as it commenced on a good note at the Abubakar Tafawa Belewa Stadium, Bauchi.
The tournament which is being sponsored by the First Lady of the state, commenced with a minute silence in honour of her late mother who passed away on Monday morning.
Declaring the tournament open, National President of YSFON, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna who was represented by the Vice President North East, Justice Habibu Idris (rtd), commended the large turnout of states despite the security challenges in the country just as he charged the teams to be good ambassadors of their respective states.
Meanwhile, in some of the matches played, the host state defeated Benue 6-0, while Kaduna piped Plateau 1-0.
Sokoto beat Yobe 3-2, FCT lost 0-4 to Kano with Jigawa beating Borno 4-2, while Gombe walloped Kebbi 7-1.
All the group matches are expected to be completed Wednesday, while quarter final matches will be decided on Thursday.
