*Says women pray for state while on pilgrimage.

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists ( NAWOJ) Imo State Chapter, at the weekend, lauded the Imo State Government under Senator Hope Uzodimma for sponsoring over 300 Imo Women on Christian Pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan, the Holy Land.
Imo NAWOJ gave the commendation in a statement signed by the chairperson of the association, Dr. Dorothy Nnaji, who is among the pilgrims to the Holy Land.
Dr. Nnaji in the statement, stressed that the association, “is truly grateful to the governor for allotting over 300 slots to women in the one thousand pilgrims fully funded by the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, to Israel and Jordan “.
The NAWOJ chairperson pointed out that there will be total and immediate transformation as a result of prayers offered on behalf of the state at the various holy sites by women in Batch ‘A’ of the pilgrimage,
She emphasized, “that His Excellency understands that there is connectivity between Heaven and Earth when women pray. Imo women cherish this opportunity to pray for the people and the state.
” His Excellency has saddled the pilgrims with the responsibility of praying for the state while the women have it taken upon them as their main petition to the holy land to ensure peace and tranquility is restored again in our state as the exercise will enhance our relationship with God as it gives us a formidable background to our faith. The women are grateful to His Excellency, Sen Hope Uzodimma and to God who made it happen.
Also, a member of Imo State, House of Assembly representing Isu state constituency and also a Pilgrim, Hon. Ngozi Obiefule said since the creation of Imo as a state no administration has ever sponsored one thousand imolites to the holy land, and as a mother, she will pray for Imo State because that is the only state that is home for her.
Hon. Ngozi Obiefule maintained that the women will pray and continue to pray believing that God will visit Imo State as she encouraged the fellow women pilgrims to pray for his Excellency Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma who God is using to move Imo state to an enviable height.
The Diocesan Secretary of Catholic Women Organization of Owerri Archdiocese and also the President of Catholic women Organization of St Joseph Chaplaincy, Imo State University , Owerri, Dr Obiageli Nnamocha, pointed out that she has dreamt and actually desired to be a Pilgrim but all her effort was abortive.
Dr Nnamocha while describing the offer to her now as a prayer answered commended the governor for this gesture and for such rare privilege which she would remain indebted to him as she prayed for the Governor’s heart desires to be met as Imo State’s peace is surely her prayer point and petition.
Also, Lolo Chinyere Odimara who could not hide her joy for the opportunity given to her by the state governor as she showered lots of praises and blessings on him and prayed for the betterment of Imo State.
Another pilgrim, Lolo Calista Ogu, prayed that Lord bless Imo state and preserve His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma as he pilots the affairs of the state.
Sites visited in the Holy Land by the pilgrims are Mount Tabor, Church of Nativity , Gethsemane, Chapel of Ascension, Church of Multiplication, Gadara in Jordan , Mount Nebo in Jordan among other Holy sites.
