Not fewer than four persons have been reported dead following the outbreak of cholera disease in Shege Word of Toto Local Gvernment Area in Nasarawa State.

This was contained in a statement from the State Ministry of Health in Lafia signed by the ministry’s Public Relation Officer, Mr Musa Abdullahi disclosing that 38 cases of the disease were confirmed in the area and four of the patients died on their way to the primary healthcare facility in the ward.
The statement says that the remaining 34 persons are in a stable condition and are receiving adequate treatment.
Meanwhile the state government has deployed a team of medical personnel in the area to commence the distribution of drugs to the people.
Abdullahi said that Director of Public Health in the ministry, Dr Ibrahim Adamu, who led the team of medical personnel in the area, assured residents that government would not relent in its efforts to curb the spread of the disease outbreak in the state.
He said a rapid response and investigation team has also been stationed in the area to attend to affected persons and to stop the further spread of the disease to other parts of the community.
