The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has said that neither the body nor the Confederation of African Football is involved in the organization of a D-License Coaching Course being promoted by some individuals and stakeholders.

General Secretary of the NFF, Dr Mohammed Sanusi stated on Tuesday that the football –governing body merely gave approval for the coaching programme after it was approached by the Nationwide League One, but is not involved in the organization.

“The Nigeria Football Federation and the Confederation of African Football are not in any way involved in the organization of the said D-License Coaching Course. It is misleading for the organizers to present such an impression.”

In a message on social media promoting the programme, titled ‘Invitation to Participate at First Edition of the NFF D-License Coaching Course” the organizers had claimed that “the technical department of NFF in collaboration with CAF is organizing the above coaching course for grassroot coaches only” and that “the program is intended to upgrade the knowledge of the grassroots coaches without Basic Certificate”, saying the course will commence with coaches from the North Central Zone with Nasarawa as Host State.

Sanusi added: “We are aware of the programme, but let me state clearly that neither CAF nor the NFF is involved in the organization. The organizers might have involved individuals in the NFF on personal basis, as a result of their expertise, but the corporate body is not involved.”
