A businessman Mr. Oluwaseun Adeyiga on Friday asked an Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan to dissolve his four years old marriage with his wife, Damilola Adeyiga
The businessman informed the court that the wife allegedly lied to him on the paternity of their four- year old son and has since stayed put with the child in the United kingdom
While giving account of the crisis on his marriage with the wife Damilola, the businessman narrated that shortly after their marriage in January 2015, his wife started misbehaving, an action which he said was strange to him and that after much probing ,his wife reportedly said she was undergoing some emotional trauma arising from her past.
” After complaining of undergoing emotional trauma, I tired all my efforts to put things right to make her happy and forget about her past. Thereafter, I decided to obtain UK visa for myself ,my wife and our son so that we can all go on vacation however owing to my tight business schedule, I could not make the trip and then decided that Damilola and our son Immanuel should make the trip”, he said.
The businessman added, “while still in the process, I received a strange call from unidentified man that he was the biological father of my son and that I should leave him and Damilola who ( the strange man) claimed was his wife for him .When I confronted my wife with the development she denied ever knowing the man and that ( he the man) was telling lie” .
He stressed that few days after, he also received another call from the same man repeating the same claim on his wife and his son and that the man said he was responsible for the pregnancy which his wife was carrying at that time.
Mr Adeniga said following the calls from the unidentified man, he put a call through to his wife that she needed to cut her trip short and come to Nigeria so that a DNA test could be conducted on the child to ascertain his paternity, adding, his wife started crying on the phone saying she didn’t know how to tell him because he’s from the royal family and would not want to embraced the family .
He noted that all his effort to ensure that his wife returns to Nigeria so that they could reconcile had been frustrated by the woman
Counsel to the businessman, Barrister Modupe Adegoke prayed the court to dissolve the marriage and grant his client unhindered access to the child, and that Adeyiga would also be responsible for the upkeep of the child and his school fees.
Justics Oyeyemi Ajayi however adjourned the case till June 19th 2019 for judgement.
