President Muhammadu Buhari has asserted that hypocrites who have been truncating the course of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be filtered out from the party to enable it execute its laudable policies and programmes.
Flagging-off the electioneering campaign of the APC candidate to the Bauchi South senatorial bye-election following the demise of the seat incumbent, senator Ali Wakili in Bauchi Thursday, the President urged electorates to massively vote for the party in the August 11, bye-elections.
“Tell those that were not here to kindly vote for the candidate of the APC, Hon. LawalYahaya Gumau in the Saturday 11th August, 2018 bye-election into the Bauchi South senatorial seat”, Buhari urged the mammoth crowd at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, venue of the campaign launch.
He explained that Hon. Lawal Gumau if elected as the senator representing the Bauchi South senatorial district will not betray the APC, the state and the nation at large, saying “We have fully endorsed him for that seat”.
Earlier presenting the APC candidate to the President, the APC National Chairman, Comr. Adams Oshiomhole observed that the APC defectors are mere disgruntled elements who do not keep to their words.
He described the APC defector as mere rogues of the opposition PDP that ruled the country for 16 consecutive years, during which period, milked the nation’s treasury, saying tested and trusted Hon. Gumau will stand aright and firm for the APC if elected.
Oshiomhole said they were in Bauchi on the entourage of Mr. President to present their party candidate and herald his campaigns for bye-election into the Bauchi South senatorial seat.
While tagging the defecting members as APC camouflage, Oshiomhole said they were the thieving the opposition PDP conclave that hitherto siphoned public funds, liable to anti-graft ghost.
The APC captain explained that the defecting so-called APC members are bunch of retrogressive and thieving elements whose actions could neither create threat to APC nor create stumbling block to the party’s victory a the 2019 polls.
“Even if they did not defect, we will push them out of the party because they are worthless that could not deter the APC from its chartered course”, he stated.
Governor Mohammed Abubakar has while welcoming the President, noted that the nation’s foreign reserves is during Buhari administration richer by $ 46 billion as against $25 billion when he took over in 2015.
This, he explained, is coming when the country’s earnings from crude oil sale went down to $27 per barrel as against the over $100 prior to the inception of the APC administration.
Abubakar therefore hailed the economic policies of the Buhari administration which, he said, deeply touched the lives of Nigerians, citing examples with N-Power, School Feeding, Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT), and GEP programmes to buttress his claims.
The governor observed however that the only stumbling block to the Buhari government are some NASS members who are always bent on turning down the wheels of the administration’s laudable policies and programmes.
