Buhari goes on 6-day vacation

The Presidency has announced that President Muhammadu Buhari has embarked on a five-day vacation with effect from yesterday.
The holiday which begins on February 5, will last till Wednesday, February 10, according to a statement by the Presidency spokesman, Femi Adesina.
Adesina in a terse statement said a formal letter had been transmitted to the leadership of the National Assembly in that respect in line with constitutional provision.
Though President Buhari was still in London where he had attended Supporting Syria Conference on Thursday, the statement did not say whether he would spend the short holiday in Britain.
The statement read: “President Muhammadu Buhari has begun a short vacation from today, February 5 to February 10, 2016.
“While President Buhari is on vacation, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will perform the functions of the President.
“In compliance with Section 145 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution, President Buhari has dispatched a formal notice of his vacation to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.”
